GROUNDED Australia is a hybrid event; a cross between a world class conference, an informative field day and a cracking food festival being run in the beautiful Huon Valley in Southern Tasmania in December 2024. Inspired by Groundswell in the UK, and run with their blessing, GROUNDED Australia is reimagining farmer learning by running multiple talks and demonstrations on farm, for farmers and those interested in food systems, organised by farmers. Think good food stalls, good company, and cracking sessions, with a bit of music thrown in.

WHEN IS GROUNDED AUSTRALIA ON IN 2024?

Workshops and Demonstrations are on the 4^th and 5^th of December 2024. The festival will start early on December 4^th (7.30 am for a pastry or a coffee, anyone?) and run until 8pm that day. On the 5^th it will start early again and run until about 6pm. We are planning a separate, ticketed welcome event on the evening of the 3^rd December on the farm. Paid up pass holders to GROUNDED Australia will get the first chance to purchase tickets to this event.

WHERE IS GROUNDED GOING TO BE HELD?

In 2024 GROUNDED Australia will be hosted on Fat Pig Farm, about 15 minutes from both Cygnet and Huonville in Southern Tasmania (about an hour south of Hobart). We’ll have parking on site, and there’s the possibility of a shuttle from Cygnet if we get enough demand. Details of parking and the shuttles will be sent closer to the event date. We strongly recommend car sharing no matter where you are staying.
