GROUNDED AUSTRALIA
GROUNDED is a hybrid event for farmers, really; a cross between a conference, a field day and a food festival. Inspired by Groundswell in the UK, and run with their blessing, GROUNDED is trying to reimagine farmer learning by running multiple talks and demonstrations on farm, for farmers, organised by farmers.
As the tag line says,
‘FARMING BETTER’
Better might mean different things to different farmers at different times. It may mean using less inputs. Or less harmful chemicals. It might mean getting more out of your land while actually improving soil health. It may mean increasing biodiversity, or your income streams, or both. Farming better can mean more time for your family, better mental health. Lower debt.
To cater for a thirst for knowledge amongst our land stewards, we will provide thought provoking talks on a range of topics in a safe, supportive space, where a diversity of views is treated with respect. We will allow you to
‘build your own learning’
by offering talks aimed at different levels of prior knowledge, while also offering hope and plenty of chances for social interaction. That’s because farming is the answer to so many of the world’s ills, be it climate, soils, biodiversity, or human health. All of us who manage land know that farming isn’t a destination, it’s a journey, so leave your preconceptions at the gate. No matter how long we’ve done good things, we can always farm better.
